continuation of 20 February, 2008 blog

I am looking forward to spending a day in Hawaii, I think we will just sit in Cosco all day. I am buying chocolate chips, a couple of shirts, getting a pedicure and eating a chocolate ice cream bar. John has his list and so we will feel civilization for a day. Life is good, we are doing good, and we know that all of you are good.
2/23/08 Thursday night we had a Yaque party with the two branches. It was fun. They had plenty of food and the YW/YM danced for us and then the primary danced for us and we loved it. Then it was time for Elder P and I to dance and we had a good time. When the Children and the R.S. were dancing Elma (our first baptism here) got John and danced with him (see picture) and he had a good time. They really love Elder P. here. John had his turn to dance by himself and so we bought a whistle and he blew it and danced like “the beat”. The people loved it and soon the missionaries got up and danced with him. It was fun. They sang to us and then came one by one and gave us gifts and hugs. The tears began to flow and it was hard saying goodbye.
We have had our time in Marjuro and I guess it is time to move on to a new adventure. We really don’t know what is in store for us but we are sure it will be great. New people to meet and new experiences. We sent seven boxes off to Christmas DHL so that we wouldn’t have to pack so much. We now have 2 empty suitcases and we will load up at Costco in Hawaii. Kids, if you need a little extra leverage – tell the little ones that Grandma and Grandpa John are on Christmas Island and visit Santa Claus regularly (Addison told me she has been really good.) Last night we had dinner with some of the seniors here – we won’t see many white seniors for a long time, although Pres. and sister Bleak said they will come every 3 months. We understand that a cruise ship comes in there every so often and the people sell their handicrafts then for a little money. I also think that we will be visited by church authorities on occasion for an hour or two before the plane leaves again. A plane only flies in one time a week. We made sandwiches and chips and cake for the missionaries at district meeting yesterday and said goodby to many of them that won’t see again. We love the missionaries.
